2018 Oklahoma Spring Break Work Trip

This year the Spring Break Work Trip was held from March 21-22, 2019 at Camp Israel Folsom in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

We had 5 volunteers coming from3 different churches in the Southwest region. Volunteers painted and replaced the siding

on the Mar Thoma House. They also dug a trench in order to redirect water from damaging the house. The inside of the

house is cleaned out and the windows have been replaced. The goal of these work trips is to renovate the Mar Thoma

House to living condition and in the long run to renovate the remaining cabins on the campsite to functional status.

The trip was a blessing to all who attended. Even the slightest help is greatly appreciated in this community and we hope

to continue this ministry in the future.

2018 Spring One Day Retreat

The Spring One Day Retreat was held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Camp Israel Folsom in Broken Bow, OK.

12 youth members and 3 adults from Broken Bow were in attendance and there were 17 Mar Thoma volunteers.

Main talks were given by Sam Saji of the Mar Thoma Church of Dallas, Carrollton. The retreat included ice breakers,

2 main talks, 2 small group sessions, crafts and meals (lunch and snacks). Our theme was “Be Strong and

Courageous” based on Deuteronomy 31:6. We studied and discussed Deuteronomy 31 and the story of Daniel to

explain what it means to be strong and courageous in our faith in the face of trouble. Verse magnets and verse cards

were given out as souvenirs to the youth that attended. Our goal for these one-day retreats is to maintain further the

relationships we make with these youth at the VBS camp in June. The retreat was a blessed event and we hope to

continue fostering these relationships and sparking an interest in Jesus within these youths.
